SAHPA wants to protect any personal information that you give to us.

This statement is made in order to comply with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, and to tell you how SAHPA will use any personal information that you give to us.

How we collect information

We get personal information about you when you submit information to process your SAHPA Membership or Licence Applications. This includes contacting us through Facebook or the SAHPA website.

What information we collect

  • Personal Information, such as race, gender and identity number,
  • Contact information, such as postal and home address, email address and telephone numbers,
  • A medical declaration
  • Medical Certificates
  • Injuries (as described in incident reports)

How we use your information

We will use the information that you give to us:

  • To send you transactional emails for your online payments
  • To send you reminders of expiring SAHPA membership
  • To send you the occasional newsletter and safety announcements.
  • To better understand how to improve paragliding safety in the SAHPA community

We share your personal information with our partners (CAA and Aero Club SA) for the purpose of issuing licences and membership.

When you receive any of our electronic newsletters or emails, you will have the ability to unsubscribe from our mailing list.

We do not use cookies on this site. However we do use a basic tracking script to understand how people use the website. In the interests of transparency, we have a dashboard which shows the level of detail that we collect and analyse.

We will make sure that any personal information that you give to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date, and only keep it for as long as it is needed any only for the purposes for which you have agreed we can use it.
