Paragliding accident at Betty’s Bay

On 27th March 2021, an unlicensed foreign pilot was involved in a paragliding accident on the dunes near Betty’s Bay. Information is limited, however it is believed that the pilot sustained injuries and was rescued by the National Sea Rescue Institute.

No further information is available at present, and the exact cause of the accident has yet to be determined. The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) will be investigating the incident.
