Dear Members,
It is time to prepare for the upcoming SAHPA Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on the 28th of May 2026. The exact date, time, and meeting format will be confirmed shortly.
This AGM relates to the financial year ending 31 December 2025. In recent years, the AGM has gradually shifted later in the calendar. In the interest of good governance, the Committee has taken a decision to move the AGM closer to the finalisation of the Annual Financial Statements (AFS), so that members are able to consider these in a more timely manner.
As in previous years, the AGM process will take place in two stages: first, the nomination of candidates for the SAHPA Committee, and second, voting by members on Committee appointments and any resolutions. The Simply Voting platform will again be used to ensure a fair and transparent process.
Process and timelines
The process will be as follows:
- Members may nominate a suitable, bona fide SAHPA member for election to the Committee using the prescribed nomination form.
- Completed nomination forms must be submitted to office@sahpa.co.za by the closing date, which will be communicated shortly.
- Once nominations have been received, the SAHPA Office will prepare the voting platform with all nominees and any resolutions.
- At least 21 days before the AGM, members will receive:
- The Chairman’s Annual Report;
- A list of nominees, including their manifestos;
- Details of resolutions to be voted on;
- Instructions for using the Simply Voting platform.
- The results of the voting will be presented at the AGM.
Eligibility
All current, paid-up SAHPA members are eligible to:
- nominate candidates,
- vote on nominees,
- vote on resolutions, and
- attend and participate in the AGM.
