General Notice from SACAA (PEL 005) published 10 September 2021.
“We are excited to announce the rollout of Phase 2 of the card licence project, which includes Glider Pilot’s Licence (GPL), National Pilot licence (NPL) and Cabin Crew licences. This phase was implemented on 09 August 2021.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- A card licence will be issued upon submission of the application documentation for either a new licence or the renewal of the competency of a licence. The documentation must be accompanied by a recent passport photo (35 x 45mm), preferably in colour. In the case of a digital submission, the passport photo shall be of a high resolution.
- Validity of renewal of NPL and GPL will be for a period of 2 years, The annual currency fee that was paid for 1 year, will now be payable for 2 years (i.e. annual currency fee X 2).
- Initial issues of all licenses remain as 12 months as per the SACAR’s and CATS.”
