On 7 March 2020 at mid-day, an experienced instructor and member of the national team, had an unfortunate tandem paragliding accident at Sedgefield site landing area.
Both pilot and her passenger are stable. They both have pelvic injuries which will recover with bed rest. They were taken to Life Hospital Knysna. Thanks to ER24 emergency services, who were on the scene with 30 min.
It must be stressed that paragliding remains essentially a very safe sport but as in all adventurous activities accidents can happen.
