The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) publishes a quarterly Aviation Information Publication (AIP) which contains the Enroute (ENR). All paragliding and hang-gliding sites are defined in the ENR 5.5.
The table below is the SAHPA Site Register, which is used as the basis for the ENR 5.5. It takes approximately 6-12 months for changes to the SAHPA Site Register to filter through to the AIP ENR 5.5.

Definitions
- Custodian – the person, club or school who has an established relationship with the land-owner.
- Landowner – the person or entity who own the land on which the launch or landing site operates from.
Training and Commercial Operations
Schools which have been approved as Declared Training Organisations (DTOs) must apply for permission to the Director of Civil Aviation (DCA) for a site to be recognised as a training site (Ref. SA-CAR 94.06.2 (1)(g):
SA-CAR 94.06.2 (1) (g) Notwithstanding the provisions of— regulation 139.01.1 (2) (b), the pilot in-command of a paraglider may use any suitable area to launch the paraglider: Provided permission has been obtained from the owner of the site or the local authority having jurisdiction; and provided further that in the case of flight training or tandem operations, only launch sites approved by the Director or by the organisation designated for the purpose in terms of part 149, as the case may be, shall be used.
Format
The Site Register contains the following co-ordinate types for ease of reference:
- GPS location in Decimal Degrees (-33.90305,19.15694)
- GPS location in Degrees, Minutes, Seconds (33°54’11.0″S 19°09’25.0″E)
- Google Plus Code (35W4+MX Franschhoek)
