BASIC / A, B (road)

DESCRIPTION: An interesting little site to fly, although rather limited unless you can jump to Misty Cliffs. An isolated ridge on the Atlantic Coast, sure to be uncrowded.

WIND: W – SW GPS: +- S34o09.35’ E18o19.9’
LAUNCH: In the fynbos above the road (unused site, overgrown) or from the road.

ALTITUDE: 140m ASL, ceiling at 1200m.

LANDING: Down below, outside the Nature Reserve if possible. HG best to land on Witsands beach (around the corner to the south).
CAUTIONS: Telephone lines on landing, beside the tar road below.
DIRECTIONS: M5 towards Muizenberg, right and up Ou Kaapse Weg, turn right only at the big four-way intersection in Fish Hoek, sign boarded ‘Kommetjie’. Before you reach Kommetjie, take the left turn to ‘Scarborough / Misty Cliffs / Cape Point’. Take the next major turning right, and before you crest the little pass, park.
