Flying restrictions in Lockdown Level 2

The SACAA has issued Notam: A2456/20A02 NOTAMR A2321/20 (full version below)

What does this mean?
Covid protocols and mask wearing etc. with social distancing are still in place!

  1. All Recreational and General Aviation is allowed (i.e. all Sahpa disciplines) and may operate except between 20h00 to 02H00 at night which does not affect us.
  2. All SAHPA ATO Schools (this includes all TFI operations) must continue with the SAHPA stipulated Covid protocols as currently in place. Please refer to the SAHPA website.
  3. The recording of all pilots names with their signature and their temperatures by the School Covid officer whom train at any of our ATO’s is still mandatory as well as all the Covid protocols. Mask wearing, social distancing etc. are still to be strictly adhered to.
  4. XC flights are permitted.

All Clubs and all sites must still ensure recording of whom flies daily and the Covid protocols are adhered to and the Covid officer must record the names etc. of who flies and retain them and if requested supply them to the Sahpa office.

Tandem
In regards to tandem training and flying, again the tandem protocols provided by SAHPA and available on our website must be strictly adhered to. These protocols are new so all tandem pilots and TFI etc. must read them, understand them and implement them. They are available on the SAHPA website.

NB: This is mandatory.

Annexure “B” and ”I” are  to be submitted (when requested) to the SAHPA office as SACAA and Sahpa will conduct periodic audits.
Please also monitor both the SACAA website, Notams and SAHPA’s website for any changes.
We trust this is clear and adherence will ensure that we can continue to enjoy our sport. Thank you for the support and many of you for assisting to get us all in the air.

Many Thanks
SAHPA
Committed to the freedom of flight
