Lowveld Slope Soaring Club (LSSC) will once again be hosting the Barberton Paragliding Open 2024 from 16 June 2024 until 22 June 2024, at Lone Tree Hill paragliding launch site in Barberton, Mpumalanga.
The event has been an annual institution in the Barberton Valley for the last 25 years and the Lowveld Slope Soaring Club is proud to continue the Lowveld tradition again this year. The event has in previous years attracted 80 to 100 pilots from all regions of South Africa and internationally too. In most recent years participation was down to 30 to 50 participants from countries which include Brazil, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the UK, Reunion Island and the USA.
Participation is open to all appropriately licensed paragliding pilots holding the necessary CIVL/FAI membership as required for the event to be considered for pilot rankings.
